Herbert Jack Lewis, age 88 of Hueytown, Alabama passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home in Pell City, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Garrick Lewis; his parents, Windom Lewis and Ruth Whatley Lewis; brothers; Clyde Franklin and Windom Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was a native a life long resident of Jefferson County where he lived most of his life in Hueytown and Dolomite. He retired from U. S. Steel with twenty years of service, was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served with the U. S. Army 31 ^st Infantry of the Dixie Division; and was a member of the Dolomite Baptist Church.

Mr. Lewis is survived by three sons; Ricky Lewis (Tina), Tim Lewis (Sherry), and Mark Lewis (Rhonda); six grandchildren; Brandi Simpson (Chris), Keith Lewis (Heather), Eric Lewis (Danielle), Adam Lewis, Erin Colvin (Tyler), and Megan Garner; thirteen great grandchildren; step grandchildren; Jake Gamble (Shannon) and Paul Green (Shelly); a brother, Robert Franklin and a sister, Sylvia Gulledge.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Valhalla Cemetery with Military Honors. Jason Dollar will officiate.
