Obituary

Homer Dandridge Lyemance, age 93, of Birmingham, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Baptist Princeton West Hospital.

Mr. Lyemance was a native and resident of Jefferson County most of his life. He was a former member and deacon of West End Baptist Church and was presently a member and deacon of Westwood Baptist Church . Mr. Lyemance served his country with the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He worked in general Construction work in Birmingham until his retirement. He was a long time HAM operator as "K4HFQ." He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Hurd Lyemance ; a son, Richard Allan Lyemance and his parents, Homer D. Lyemance and Rebecca Jones Lyemance.

Mr. Lyemance is survived by his daughter, Judy L. Erwin; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2014 at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Steve Potts officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Wednesday prior to he service at the funeral home.
