age 71, of Bessemer, passed away on May 11, 2007 after a long illness. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Monday, May 14, 2007 at 12:00 noon with burial in Hickman cemetery. Rev. Jim Colburn officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2007 from 5 until 8 p.m. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan E. Gardner, father, James Robert Jones, mother, Elsie Pearl Beck and two brothers, J.C. Jones and Y.D. "Poncho" Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Joyce Jones; three sons, Jeff (Gina) Jones, Steve (JoAnn) Jones and Barry (Lisa) Jones; daughter, Sherry (Kelvin) Harding, grandchildren; Brandy Harding, Chuck (Lori) Gardner, Amber Harding, Misty Harding (Scotty) Casey, Todd, Barry Jr. and Tammy Jones, great grandchildren, Katie Whitson and Jayden Stallworth, 12 step great grandchildren, his brother James E. Jones and four sisters, Emma Beck, Bobbie Swindle, Betty Harris and Gladys Cook. The family wants to send a special thanks to Dr. Pace and the caregivers in the ICU unit at UAB West for the care they have shown.
