Obituary

Mr. Carter was born in Decatur, AL and lived in Hueytown and Bessemer most all of his life. He retired from Dun and Bradstreet Corp with over thirty years of service. Mr. Carter served with the United States Army and was an avid Alabama Fan and a member of Tide Pride of the University of Alabama. Jack became a Christian in 1951 at Industrial Baptist Church in Hueytown and has been a member of Fairfield Highlands for forty-five years. His favorite hymn was "When We All Get to Heaven" and Psalms was his favorite scripture. Jack served faithfully as a deacon of the church and was faithful to visit in behalf of the church. Mr. Carter also served in the United States Army.

Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Nell Carter; three sisters-in-law, Milla Cottingham, Billie Ann Martin, and Jean Ali-Oglu; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. Valhalla Chapel with Brother T. A. Duke officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fairfield Highlands, 910 9th Street, Midfield, AL 35228.
