Obituary

James U. Bevis, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on March 10, 2013 at home. He was a long time member of the 66th Street Baptist Church and currently a member of Brewster Road Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and gulf States Commercial Art School. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 31 years of service. He was a life member of the Masonic Order and he was a World War II veteran. He also served in the Pacific with the 20th Air Force 358 Bomb Group, commanded by General Curtis Lemay.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Lisa Brown; several cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11 AM. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.
