Mr. James Frank Goggins "Buddy", 92 years old, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 29th, 2016 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Goggins was born at home to William and Elizabeth Goggins on June 15, 1923. He was a life long resident of Birmingham, Alabama.
Mr. Goggins was a WWII veteran and served as a Buck Sargent in the 137th Maintenance Ordinance. He was employed by United States Steel for 44 years. Mr. Goggins'' faithful service to his God, Country, and Family were part of his integrity and character. He was a "True Southern Gentleman". Mr. Goggins was a Christian and a member of Garywood Assembly of God.
Mr. Goggins was married to his beautiful bride, Lois Williams Goggins on August 31, 1943. James and Lois were married for 72 years. They were preceded in death by their son, Benjamin Owen Goggins. They have 5 living children. Annie (Raymond) Hardin, Jack (Vicki) Goggins, Melba (Rickey) Pruitt, Rosemarry (David) Higgins, Bill (Punkin) Goggins.
Mr. Goggins has 14 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goggins services will be Monday February 1, 2016 at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield; Al. Visitation will be from 10-11am, and service at 11am. Pastor John Loper, Jr. officiating. Burial to follow at Valhalla Cemetery.
