age 67, of Bessemer, passed away on June 10, 2007. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a recieptient of a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, Oak Leaf Clusters and Two Purple Hearts. Past Commanding officer of Salvation Army in Bessemer. Funeral Services will be held at Eastern Valley Baptist Church on June 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents James Guthrie Sr. and Lois Murphy; grandparents Vannie and Ernestine Willis, Elijah and Mary Allen Guthrie. He is survived by his wife Billie Guthrie, sons, John (Lisa) Guthrie of Dayton, TN., Keith (Lashawn) Guthrie of Spring City, TN. and Charles Guthrie of Bessemer, AL; daughters, Mary Lou (Frank) Emell and Lois Janow both of Spring City, TN., sisters, Jean Frost and Donna Derolf both of N.C., six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and extended loving family.
