a resident of Bessemer, AL, born September 17th, 1924, passed away July 15th, 2007. J.W. Richey was the son of Charles W. Richey and Elizabeth Brown Richey of Pell City, AL. Mr. Richey is survived by his wife, Sara Elizabeth Richey of Bessemer, AL; 4 children, daughter, Leah Lynnette Richey of Largo, FL, Tamela Richey Coker (husband Gary) of Birmingham, AL, Janice Richey of McCalla, AL, and James William Richey, Jr. (wife Angela) of Raymond, MS; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas Coker and Alyssa Richey; 1 brother, Claxton L. Richey (wife Mildred), and 3 sisters, Sarah Tollett, Peggy Lint (husband Gene), and Marie McDaniel; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Richey was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harry T. Richey, Chester Richey, Grady Richey, Leon Richey and Robert Lee Richey and his sister Nona Richey Goodwin. Mr. Richey will be available for viewing at Valhalla Funeral Home 5317 Bessemer Super Highway, Tuesday July 17, 2007 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM. Reverend Cecil L. Nelson will be presiding over memorial services for Mr. Richey at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, July 18th, 2007 at Valhalla Funeral Home at 5317 Bessemer Super Highway.
