SHELTON, JAMES ARTHUR, age 84, of Bessemer, Alabama passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009. Mr. Shelton was a member of Peoples Church in Hueytown and retired from Millbrook Bakery. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Laura Beth "L B" Shelton. Mr. Shelton is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Olivia Shelton; sons, Wayne (Charlene) Shelton and Johnny (Dale) Shelton; daughter, Judy (Bryant) Jones; grandchildren, Megan (Brad) Beard, Zack Shelton, Shelley Grace and Jordan Jones; great-granddaughter, Laura Faith Beard; and sister, Betty (Lloyd) Mahan. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Valhalla Cemetery. Bro. Buddy Poe will be officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, August 10 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
