James Alton Stokes age 95 of Adamsville, AL went to be with the Lord on June 11, 202. He was loved by all that knew him and helped anyone who was in need. He loved the Lord with all his heart and had many stories to tell. He will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Poe Stokes; his sister, Cleo Tinney; and brothers, Frank Stokes, Ronald Stokes and Perry Stokes.

He is survived by his son, David Alton Stokes; daughters, Darlene Stokes, Brenda Stokes Price (Tommy Bo Price), Shelia Stokes Smith and Brenda Poe Spata; grandchildren, Cindy Tavel, Amanda Warren (Issac), Kevin Warren (Mikia), Kim Price, Anita Smith (Troy Smith), Shonda Alexander (Wesley), Ariel Smith, Alexa Smith, Zack Smith, Angie Spata, Nick Spata and many loved great grands.
