James Marcus Vincent, Jr., age 70 of Bessemer, AL went to be with the Lord July 24, 2014. He was born to the late James Marcus Vincent, Sr., and the late Elsie Rosa Cooley-Vincent and a sister Mona Ruth Goodgame-Gerhart.

Mr. Vincent is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Sherra June Riley -Vincent; a daughter, Elisa DeLanne Vincent-Ledbetter; son-in-law, Michael Douglas Ledbetter; a grandson, Ian Vincent Ledbetter; a grand daughter, Mary Cecilia Ledbetter; an aunt, Roselle Massey-Cooley; Cousins, Eugene and Frances Cooley and their family James Cooley and his family, Myrtle Moore and her family, Jeannine Cooley-Rogers and her family , a niece, Nicole Salter and her family; nephews, Rob Smith and Daniel Riley and their families as well as a host of friends. .

Services will held on Monday, June 28, 2014 at 12 noon at Shady Grove Baptist Church of Lacey''s Chapel with the Rev. Patrick Buckner officiating. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery with military rites. The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 12 noon prior to the service at Shady Grove Baptist Church of Lacey''s Chapel.

Mr. Vincent was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County. He was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church of Lacey''s Chapel and was retired. He was a Vietnam War veteran with the United State Marine Corp where he received many awards and medals.
