Jeanette Godsey Sanders, age 83 formerly of Birmingham, AL went to her heavenly home on October 24, 2020 in Marietta , GA.
Jeanette was the daughter of the late Arthur R. and Elvie Mae Bright. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend she was a faithful believer of Christ and a member of Gardendale first Baptist Church who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Jeanette loved Nick Saban and the Alabama Roll Tide football team as well as the Atlanta Braves baseball teams and could be found cheering them on whenever they played.
As much as Jeanette loved her family she also loved being an Avon Lady at the Bessemer Flea Market and was well known for her work there; she was also worked as a waitress and a credit manager during her career days.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Sanders; parents, Arthur R. and Elvie Mae Bright and one daughter, Cathy DeLaPena.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Linda (Alan) Winfrey and Wayne (Denise) Godsey; eight grandchildren, Tony (Jennifer) DeLaPena, Renita (George) Myers, Bethany (Bobby) Hollis, Nathan (Courtney) Harper, Sally (Mike) Dickson, Brittany (Saad) Bhamla, Joseph (Lindsey) Harper and Garrett (Amber) Godsey; eight great grandchildren, Kalei DeLaPena, Zoey Hollis, Mason Myers, Hannah Myers, Michael Dickson, Reese Harper, Eli Bhamla and Jayce Harper; one sister, Barbara Jean Leslie and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
