Jesse C.Edwards, Jr, age 82, of Hueytown, passed away August 12, 2010.
He served as a Navy Seal during World War II, He was a senior member of Hueytown Baptist Church. He was retired from Pullman Standard after 24 years of service. He will be remembered for his love of fishing trips and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years; Billie Lynn Edwards, two sons; Jesse (Jane) Edwards, Jr. of Fultondale, and William Terry (Karen) Edwards of Hueytown, as well as one daughter; Linda Faye Powell of Jacksonville, FL. He also leaves one granddaughter and two grandsons, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 in the Chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Valhalla Cemetery. Bro. Terry DeFoor will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
