Jesse O'Ferrel Slayton, 91 of Birmingham, AL  went to meet  the Lord on February 5, 2019. He met the love of his life Maude Elaine Staggs at Bob Jones University in South Carolina in 1947; they were married in 1949.  Their union brought three children.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Maude Slayton and his son, Jonathon Slayton.

He leaves to cherish his memories: Martha Elaine Slayton (Mike) Stark and Timothy Lee Slayton; grandchildren, Melissa Deanne Slayton, Christopher Lee (Jennifer) Stark, Justin Matthew Stark, Rebeccah Janelle Christian Slayton, Stephen Shane (India) Slayton and Timothy James Slayton; great grandchildren, Joshua Carter Hall, Kaiden Izaiah Tios, Oliver Allen Gilbreath, Cambree rose Stark, Teagan Rae Stark; caregiver, Maria Norris and many other relative and friends.  Jesse will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Valhalla Funeral Home from 11 am to 1 pm. Funeral Services will be help at 1 pm with burial in Valhalla Cemetery.
