Jimmy Douglas Peterson
1931-2018

Jimmy Peterson, age 86, passed away January 11, 2018. Jimmy was born in Bessemer and raised in Raimund Heights. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954. He worked for Pullman Standard and U.S. Pipe, retiring in 1994. Jimmy was a member of the Morgan United Methodist Church.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Edna Peterson; daughter, Elizabeth Slay and husband Mark; grandchildren, Sarah Slay, Mark C. Slay and Marley Slay; brother, Bob Peterson and wife Yolanda; and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Phillip and Annie Lucille Peterson; brothers P.H., Ken and Jerry; and sister Cheryl Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Tuesday, January 16 at 1:00 PM with visitation immediately prior at 12:00 PM. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Birmingham VA Home-based Primary Care, Oxford Home Health, friends, neighbors and their church family.
