Jobe Nelson Statum, III, age 78, of Oxford, Alabama went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2018, at his residence. Mr. Statum was preceded in death by his parents, Jobe Nelson Statum, II and Fannie Mae Gallups; a brother, Robert J. Statum and as sister, Carolyn Statum Adams.
Mr. Statum was a native of Jefferson County where he was raised and was a graduate of Ensley High School. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and resided in Oxford, Alabama most of his life. Mr. Statum was a member and ordained minister of the Church of God of Cleveland, Tennessee. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Anniston Army Depot with twenty years of service.
Mr. Statum is survived by two sons; Joey (Dena) Statum and Randy Statum; a daughter, Anna S. Daniels (David); 4 grandchildren; Dana Grady (Jacob), Jenna Daniels, Joel Statum (Jenn) and Jordan Statum (Courtney); three great grandchildren, Mason, Miles and Micah Grady; a brother, Henry Statum and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 6:30 P.M. at Metro Church of God, 2800 Metropolitan Way, Birmimgham, AL 35243. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
