Aluskewicz, John P., age 61, of Panama City Beach, passed away on February 29, 2008. He was retired from the Department of Transportation for the State of New York. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had been a resident of Panama City Beach since 2004, moving there from Southampton, New York. He was a member of the Southampton Elks Lodge #1574 in New York and also an associate member of the FRA Branch #346 in Panama City Beach. He is survived by his wife Susan Grant Aluskewicz of Panama City Beach, 2 brothers, George Aluskewicz and wife Virginia and Robert Aluskewicz, nephew, Rhett Grant, niece, Heather Battles and husband Gordan, great-niece, Bailey Battles, mother-in-law, Betty Grant and many other friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield, Alabama with the Rev. Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Interment will follow in the Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Valhalla Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. No flowers will be accepted, donations can be made to Relay for Life, c/o, Dr. John Nanfro, 301 West 26th Street, Lynn Haven, Florida 32444 or the St. John's Church, 512 Second Avenue SE, Cullman, Alabama 35055 in memory of John Aluskewicz.
