John A. Wadsworth, 82 of McCalla went home to be with the Lord on August 1, 2022. With many passions, music was always a staple in his life. He was a lover of bluegrass and southern gospel. He was a member of the Tannehill Opry House Band for several years, where he enjoyed playing the mandolin. John was a retiree from US Steel, Fairfield works. He was a 40 year member of Milton H. Fikes NO. 722 Masonic Lodge as a Master Mason.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Wadsworth, his father, Clyde Wadsworth, brother Claude Wadsworth, sister, Barbara Stewart and her husband, Jackie P. Stewart. John is survived by his wife, Becky Snider Wadsworth, his daughters, Christy Allen (Fred), Kylie Wadsworth, Wendy Elmore, Rhonda Samsal (Jamie) and Selina Salter (Craig). stepdaughter, Jonica Mueller-Hedrick(Greg) and stepson, Jason Pennington, Grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Taylor, Sydney, Lexie, Lydia and 9 great-grandchildren. sister Betty Tingle (Jim) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Friday, August 5, 2022 with visitation from 12-2pm and service starting at 2pm with burial to follow at Valhalla Cemetery. Bro. Tim Hassler will be officiating.
