age 17, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in Atlanta, TX. He was born November 24, 1988 in Birmingham, AL. Jonathan was active in the youth group at Calvary Baptist Church. He regularly attended Break Away at Texas A&M University. He was a member of the FFA, Key Club and the National Honor Society at A&M Consolidated High School. Jonathan was a very compassionate and loving person with a gentle spirit. He was known to give the deepest most sincere hugs.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Evelyn West. He is survived by his parents, Chuck and Cindy DeMott of College Station, Brenda and Richard Calvert of Bartlett, TN; sister, Lyndi DeMott; brother, Charles DeMott, both of Bartlett, TN; stepsister, Jessie Pickens of College Station; grandparents, Jack and Katie DeMott; niece Katherine DeMott; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. Visitation will be at Valhalla Funeral Home 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, with a Memorial Service at 7:00pm. Graveside service will be Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Valhalla Cemetery.
Jonathan's sister, Elizabeth Anne Pickens and brother David James Pickens, passed away with him on Aug. 8, 2006. Elizabeth 18, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was active in the youth group. She recently graduated from A&M Consolidated High School and was enrolled at Blinn College for the fall semester. While in high school she was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and ran cross country track. She was full of life and loved by all. David, 14, was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was active in the youth group. He was a member of the Junior Honor Society and would have begun his freshman year at A&M High School. He loved and participated in all sports. David was a gentle giant.
Elizabeth and David were preceded in death by their grandparents, David L. and Anita Pickens and Ruth Stephenson; and uncle George Pickens. They are survived by their parents, David Pickens of College Station, Cindy and Chuck DeMott of College Station; sister, Jessie Pickens of College Station; stepbrother Charles DeMott; grandfather James L. Stephenson of Nashville, TN; several uncles, aunts and cousins. The services for Elizabeth and David were held in College Station,TX.
