Joseph "Steve" Sims,73, of Bessemer,Al. passed away on Jan. 12,2022 of natural causes. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed.
Steve was born on 10/26/48 to Penn Sims and Bessie Jane in Bessemer, Al. After Steve graduated from Bessemer High School in 1967 he went on to serve in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on 1/14/1976 as Sgt. Joseph S. Sims. He then went on to work at US pipe as a welder and retired many years later. He was full of life and enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a "Jack of all trades"
Steve is survived by Betty Sims, wife. Sakiaya "cupcake" Sims, Denise Meadows, April Epperson, Tammy Bunn, daughters. Michael Epperson, son. Holli & Haley Vincent, Steven Rodriquez, Collin Epperson, Christin Dowdy, grandchildren. Conner Dowdy, great grandchild. Zack Hyde, Frank Bunn, son in laws. Paige Epperson, daughter in law. And many friends.
Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on 1/18/2022 from 11-12 p.m.
He loved with all his heart and is now in peace surrounded by light.
