IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juanita "Nita"
Wallace Buckhana
March 5, 1963 – December 12, 2020
Juanita Wallace Buckhana entered this world with a smile on March 5, 1963. She was the first born child of Willie Dak and Rosie Jean Marshall. Beautiful, athletic and adventurous; she met life head on with a loving spirit.
Juanita was born with a servant's heart. She joined the church at a young age at Sixth Avenue Beulah under the guidance of the late Reverend Samuel Marshall. She was never a "pew member", she was active in the church her entire life serving on the Usher Boards, S. Marshall Youth Choir and Voices of Praise.
Juanita attended Hard Elementary and Jess Lanier High Schools. In 1983, she met the love of her life, Sylvester Buckhana and a youthful courtship led to a 35 year marriage that was unparalleled by others and their inseparable love that produced 3 beautiful children, Sylvia (Donell) Scott, Sylvester Buckhana, Jr. and Jalisa Buckhana. Together, she and Sylvester founded Buckhana Day Care where for 34 years she was a positive force in many children's lives.
To know her was to love her. To know her was to know the constant smile she displayed. To know her was to know anything you asked for she would deliver. To know her was to know her ultimate passion!!! Her grandchildren!!! She was their love, their backbone, their rollerskating phenom.
It rained a hard, cold rain on Saturday, December 12 th as the angels in heaven poured tears of sorrow and joy. Sorrow in that she left to grieve, Sylvester, Sylvia, Sylvester, Jr. and Jalisa. She left Annie Williams, her grandmother and Rosie Jean Marshall, her mother. She left Kenyata (Anjanetta) Alexander, her brother and Gina Alexander, her sister. The skies opened up in a massive thunderstorm as they realized she also left Donellrious, Donellria and Cornellrious Scott, Synthia Buckhana, Alyssia and Aliya Buckhana and Cedric Cook, Jr., her heart for many years.
But there are also tears of joy as they welcomed home their sister, a fellow angel, only assigned to this earth for a short time.
Juanita was love. She was loved. She will be missed.
