age 65, of Hueytown, passed away on April 25, 2007. She was a loving Wife, Mother and "Grannon". Mrs. Nelson was a member of Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church. She was also retired from Birmingham Southern College. Mrs. Nelson was an accomplished pianist and organist and played in Handel's Messiah. A Memorial Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Harry Simms officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2007 from 1 until 2 p.m. She is survived by her husband of 45 years James "Jim" Nelson; one son, Jay Nelson; two daughters, Chris Wilson (Mike) and Jamie Nelson (Ben Oliver); one grandson, Samuel Jude Nelson Oliver; Mother, Edna Jinks; one brother, Jerry Jinks. In lieu of flowers, family request memorials be made to The American Cancer Society.
