Monk, June passed away Saturday morning at NHC Nursing Home in Athens TN. She had previously been a long time resident of Pleasant Grove, AL. She retired from the Jefferson County School System in 1987 after 31 years as a classroom teacher. She is preceded in death by her husband Bobbie R. Monk. She is survived by one son, Robert L. Monk and daughter-in-law, Linda of Athens, TN, one granddaughter, Elizabeth Frierson and husband John and one great granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth of Niceville, FL. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Valhalla cemetery.
