Langston (Nicky) was a kind and giving father who made everyone smile with his humour and wit. He always had time to visit with his family, since he did not fly, either driving or taking a train. You always felt loved after seeing Nicky.

Nicky passed away on June 11th, 2021 at the age of 75. He was Born on July 12 ^th , 1945 to Mary & Joe Smith. Nicky was Mary's little 'Cowboy.' He loved playing with his best friend Bobby, the two were inseparable. Nicky grew up in Alabama where his father worked for the railroad and his mother was a homemaker.  Nicky met and fell in love with Geraldine. They were married and soon moved to Chicago to make a life for themselves and their family. Nicky and Geraldine had six sons.   Nicky took pride in his family and was a family man, always making time for his wife and sons. He retired from the Chicago Board of Education.

Nicky loved playing video games and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He loved traveling to Chicago and Maryland to visit his family. In Maryland, he loved visiting the MGM, sitting to watch people at the National Harbor and visiting his favorite candy store.

Nicky is survived by his sister Jean Arrington, Sons Derek (Andrea), Keith, Korey, Dionta (Pamela), and Kristen, grandchildren Keisha, Jaime, Mackenzie, and Madison and great-grandchildren Timothy, Kimberly and Travis.
