Knight, Latham O. "Tharp" , age 73, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010. He was a member of VFW Owens Cumberland Post #3472. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen T. Tharp and Inez M. Knight; his step-father, William Knight and his brother, Thomas "Corky" Tharp. He is survived by his step-mother, Jacquelyn Tharp; his brother, Mike Tharp; his sisters, Joyce Tharp, Gloria (Buford) Terrell, Donna Jones and Michele (Cary) Marler; aunt, Mary Kathryne Hille and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 12 Noon with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Rev. Joel Harris officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 11:00 until 12:00 pm.
