Leatha Renea Acoff Foster was born August 4, 1961, the eldest child of Joe and Virginia Acoff in Selma, Alabama. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in Montgomery, Alabama.

As a youngster, Leatha's family relocated to the Birmingham area. She was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System, graduating from Shades Valley High School. She furthered her education attending Jefferson State Junior College and University of Alabama Birmingham.

Leatha enjoyed a rewarding career in federal service with the Department of Defense at Maxwell Air Force Base as a Budget Analyst. In her leisure Leatha enjoyed playing softball, cruising and her affiliation with an area Steppers line- dance troupe.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher James Foster and her parents. Leatha leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Jennifer L. Foster; Calera, Alabama; sisters, Joretha Acoff, Youngstown, Arizona; Angela Acoff, Tonja Acoff- Curry, Melissa Acoff, Fanta Acoff; all of Birmingham, Alabama; Shaniesha Holt, Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Joe Lee Acoff, Jr.; Birmingham, Alabama; and Anthony Holt, Columbus, Mississippi; one grandson, Christopher Jordan Foster; and a host of family and close friends.
