Lewis T. Gooden (L.T.) was born March 14, 1944 to the late May Alice McGee and DeRoss Jefferson of Newborn, AL. He confessed hope in christ at an early age. Years later he moved to Birmingham, AL and united with Trinity Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee and sang in the Male Choir. He also served as a Deacon at New Beginnings Baptist in Midfield, AL, at the time of his death he was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bessemer, AL with Rev. Thomas Rogers Jr Pastor. He graduated from Lucy Laney High School in Augusta, GA. He moved to Birmingham, AL were he was employed at McWayne Cast Iron Pipe Company for 40 years.

Lewis was preceded in death by 2 sisters; Mary Bolden, Mary Jefferson Patrick and a brother, Walter Jefferson.

Lewis leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of 53 years Doris Miree Gooden, 1 daughter, Pamela Miree, 2 sons; Michael Gooden, Victor (Andrea) Gooden, 7 grandchildren; Kandace Gooden, Demi Starling, Bria Gooden, Ashliegh Clevleand, Isiah Gooden, Darren Gooden and Joshua Dorty, 2 great grandchildren; Derrick Clark and Kaden Clark, 3 brothers; Elder Earnest (Barbara) McGee, Matthew Jefferson, Leroy Jefferson, 3 sister in laws; Velbert Merriweather, Juanita (Charles) Nix, Carnell Thompson, 3 brother in laws; Eddie Miree, Jimmy Miree, Joe (Lavone) Miree, he also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 29, 2021, 11:00 AM at Valhalla Cemetery with Rev. Thomas Jefferson Rogers,Jr officiating.
