Lillian "Sue" Knowles Johnson, 91 of Hueytown, AL passed from her Earthly home on August 12, 2022. Sue was born to Fred and Winona Knowles, July 2, 1931. She grew up in the Lipscomb/Jonesboro area and attended Jones Valley High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her class and wrote the class song. She met the love of her life, Hobert Johnson at church and was married for 58 years.

Sue and Hobert loved children and were foster parents to many special babies over the years after their children were grown. They didn't have a house, they had a home where countless friends, family and visiting preachers were always welcomed and treated special. She loved to cook and entertain. She enjoyed the times spent around her table. Her laughter would fill a room. She was a blessing to all who knew her and was lovingly known as "Aunt Sue".  She worshiped the Lord faithfully throughout her life, the last 69 years at Hueytown Church of Christ and is and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hobert B. Johnson and parents Fred and Winona Knowles. She is survived by her son, Jerry H. (Hilda) Johnson and daughter, Karen J. Christian; Grandsons, Matt (Jessica) Johnson, Andrew (Katie) Christian; granddaughter, April (Brian) Smith; two great grandsons, Ethan and Maddox Johnson and great granddaughter, Hayes Johnson; sister, Alicia K. Bowers and a niece, Renee Bowers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the LeBonheur Children's Hospital, Heart Institute, American Heart Associate or Sacred Selections Adoptions.
