Keith, Lillian C., 91, of Sylacauga, AL passed away on Monday, November 18. She was born in Huntsville, AL on October 4, 1922. Lillian graduated from Rison High School (Huntsville) and from Freed-Hardeman College (Henderson, TN). At Freed-Hardeman she met Barney L. Keith of Montgomery, AL and the two of them were married in Florence, AL on October 17, 1943.
Lillian was a member of the Wilsonville church of Christ, and had loyally followed her evangelist husband who preached the Gospel for over 70 years. She and Barney worked together for churches in Florence, Decatur, Hueytown, Midfield, and Birmingham, AL as well as Chattanooga, TN, Lexington, KY, and Tampa, FL. Lillian will be remembered for her love for truth, devotion to her family, her exemplary Southern hospitality, her sweet and gracious spirit, and her sense of humor.
She is survived by daughters Donna Marie Keith of Pleasant Grove and Marcia Jean Johnson (Danny) of Sylacauga; sister Hettie Jean Patton of Chesterfield, VA; grandsons Jared K. Johnson (Holly) of Auburn and Jacob M. Johnson (Abby) of Wilsonville; and great grandchildren Ellie, Cole, Belle, and Bowen Johnson.
Visitation will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on the Bessemer Super Highway in Midfield on Thursday evening 6:00 - 8:00PM and the funeral on Friday at 2:00PM, also at Valhalla.
