Lita Craig Johnson, 93, of Sylacauga, Alabama, passed Away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Sylacauga Health and Rehab after several months of steadily declining health. Lita Craig Davis (know as Craig) was born on November 12, 1930, in rural Fayette County in her family's home. She was one of seven children born to Oren and Ethel Mae Davis. Craig went to school in Kennedy, Alabama. When she was sixteen years old, she left her high school education to marry Miles Johnson of Millport, Alabama. They had two sons, Danny and Tim, before moving to the Birmingham area. They made their permanent home in Hueytown, Alabama, elder of the church there, and Craig stood by his side serving the Lord. She was a diligent worker at home, a hospitable and gracious hostess, a devoted wife and mother, loyal daughter, sister and friend, as well as a dedicated Bible student. Craig took care of her beloved Miles at home for eleven years before his death in 1998. They were married for almost fifty-two years.

Craig is preceded in death by her son, Timothy Miles Johnson, her brothers Ralph, Richard, and Max Davis, and her sister, Mary Alice Hamner. She is survived by her brothers William Davis of Vernon, and Jack Davis of Birmingham, her son, Danny R. Johnson (Marcia) of Sylacauga, daughter-in-law Joni Johnson of Houston, Texas, Jared Johnson (Holly) of Auburn, and Jacob Johnson (Abby) of Wilsonville, as well as great grandchildren Caleb, Joshua, Ellie, Cole, Belle, and Bowen Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on the Bessemer Super Highway in Midfield on January 20, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 A.M. There will be no graveside service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
