Obituary

Loretta Elaine Hindman Duckworth passed away at home on February 25, 2024. She was born August 18, 1935 in the Mt. Vernon community of Fayette County. She was the youngest of 6 children.She was the last surviving sibling.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kelley Webster Hindman and Mary Ellie Hindman, her husband of 38 years, John T. Duckworth, her sister, Bonneal Owens, her brothers, Barney Hindman, Bill Hindman, Rabe Hindman, Benny Hindman and nephew, Larry Hindman. She is survived by a niece Jean (Jack) Blackwell, several nephews, Miles (Laura) Owens, Sandy (Pam) Hindman, Nolan (Patsy) Hindman, and Perry Hindman. Also, 9 great nieces and nephews and numerous great great nieces and nephews.

She came to Birmingham shortly after graduating high school. She soon married John (J. T.) Duckworth just before he went into the Army, also of Fayette County. After he was discharged from the Army, they settled in Midfield where she resided until her death.

She worked for several trucking companies in the Birmingham area. Anyone who knew Elaine knew that she was an avid Alabama fan.

There will be a Graveside Service held Wednesday,February 28,2024,at 11:00AM at Valhalla Cemtery.
