Louis Howard Gutenschwager, Sr., age 74, of Birmingham died on May 2, 2018 at Baptist Princeton in Birmingham, Al. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and four sisters.

Mr. Gutenschwager is survived by his wife, Frances Burks Gutenschwager; a son, Louis Howard Gutenschwager, Jr. (Jessie); three step daughters; Kathy Riley (Rick), Linda Odgers (Doug), and Mary Perry (James); nine grandchildren, Jennifer Burkes (Daniel), Gabrielle Calvert (Mike), Michael Riley, Justin Riley (Katie), Amber Snow, Marissa Naiki, Jerry Thrasher (Felicia), Casey Euler, and Michael Simonetti; a sister; Judy Grabowski (Chet) and bunches of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gutenschwager was a native of Michigan and moved to Birmingham in 1972 where he retired from AMICO Steel, was a member of the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God, and was a U. S. Veteran.

A Memorial Service will be Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Assembly of God, 901 First Avenue, Pleasant Grove, AL  35127.
