Obituary

Payne, Louise Parr, 80 of Midfield went home quietly to be with her Lord after a long battle with Dementia. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Midfield where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School Classes. She was active in the UMW where she held many offices. She was born in Greensboro Alabama where she attended Greensboro High School. She attended Athens State College and recieved her Masters Degree from UAB. She owned and operated several Beauty Shops in the Midfield and Central Park area. She retired from Lawson State College after teaching 20 years in the cosmotology department. She worked and supported the Little League Association of Midfield Baseball for over 20 years. She was a member of the Midfield Lions Club, Midfield Chamber of Commerce and the Fairfield Elks Lodge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emory M. Payne and her son Charles "Chuck" Payne. She is survived by two sons; Walter Terry Payne (Renee) and Emory Ronald Payne; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Oakwood cemetery in Greensboro AL at approximately 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Monday from 5 until 8 p.m. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to caregiver JoAnne Rodda, a loving friend. Thanks also to all the nurses and staff at Alacare Home Health Care hospice. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to your local Hospice Association.
