Madalene Upton Francis (NeeNee),  86 , died at Bay Breeze Senior Living & Rehab a comforted place she called home for the past 2 years 2 months in Gulf Breeze Fl. on July 31, 2018. She was born in Fayette Al. on October 31, 1931.

Her home before she moved to Florida for over 65 years was in Birmingham Al. Madalene was a Nursing Assistant to a local Doctors office, a home maker to her family. Her love for Owls, watching the movie Titanic, the color orange, and country cooking, and member of The North Alabama Cherokees ( Tribal given name) Midnight Star 1996.

Madalene is preceded by her Husband Howard Francis, Parents; Nathaniel and Marie Upton; 2 sisters Audra Perkins and Frances Nappier.

She is survived by a son Randall (Bonnie) Studdard of Greenville, S.C.; two; Daughters  Debra Francis of Chicago Illinois and Linda Francis of Gulf Breeze,Florida; two sister's; Jewel Kelley of Jasper  and Janice Treadway of Jasper Al.; a brother-in-law, Joe Perkins; grandchildren; John (Megan) Studdard, James (Andrea) Studdard. Samuel (Janet) Studdard, Mark (Kristen) Studdard, Joseph (Suzanna) Studdard, Grace Studdard (Jon) Berbin, Lauren Earnest, and Andrea Cook.
Great Grandchildren; Issac Studdard, Samuel Studdard, Janel Studdard, Sofie Studdard, Judah Studdard, Leon Berbin, Lacey Berbin; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 12 Noon at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery in Midfield, Al.
