We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Madelyn Lataine Schroeder, who was born on April 3, 2015, and passed away on February 26, 2025.

Madelyn was the beloved daughter of Allison and Nicholas Hurst. She brought so much joy and love to their lives during her short time on this Earth.  Madelyn succumbed to Batten disease, a rare and fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects children. Despite her illness, Madelyn remained a source of inspiration and strength to all who knew her.

Madelyn leaves behind her loving parents, and two younger brothers. She touched the lives of many with her infectious smile, strength and unwavering spirit. She changed the life of so many people, and still continues to do so.

Madelyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
