Maggie Helen Jacks, age 88, of Hueytown, AL died Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at UAB Medical West Hospital in Bessemer.

Mrs. Jacks was born in Clark County and lived her early life in Fayette and Clark Counties. She moved to Jefferson County in 1951. She was a long time member of the Unity Baptist Church and served as a volunteer for Rescue Missions and the Girls'' Club in Bessemer. Mrs. Jacks was a former member of the Civitan and Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-five years, the Reverend Sammie Jacks, Jr. She assisted her husband in the ministry. She is also preceded in death by three daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Pitts, Helen Carrel Bearden, and Rachael Leigh Raymond; and four grandchildren.

Sbe is survived by two daughters, Betty Davidson and Becki Burchfield (Phillip); son-in-law, Donald E. Bearden, Sr. (Marietta); twelve grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Chapel with the Rev.'s Floyd Peters, Bryan Smith, and Marion New officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and an honorary pallbearer. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
