Obituary
Manuel Joseph Veiga, age 87, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham.
Mr. Veiga was born in Michigan and was raised in New Jersey, lived in Hell's Kitchen in New York and moved to Birmingham in 1981. He served over 20 years in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked with Security Engineers for twenty years and worked as a security guard and was over the mailroom at O''Neal Steel for ten years. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Veiga and a daughter, Kathy Veiga; his parents, and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Janet Veiga; one daughter, Janet L. Hunter (Lee); five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be announced later by Valhalla Funeral Home.
