Margie Annette Harvell, age 87 of Vestavia Hills passed away on August 23, 2014. She was born in Troy, Alabama and raised her family in Birmingham. She retired after 33 years from New Ideal. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Andy Harvell; her parents, Henry and Pollyanna Ammons; three brothers, and three sisters.

Margie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by three children, Ricky Harvell (Peggy), Linda Anderson, Andrea Tuggle (Scott), and seven grandchildren, Jenny Norcross (Jim), Andy Anderson (Carmen), John Anderson (Amy), Julie Harvell, Laine Killingsworth (Justin), Grace Tuggle and Cory Tuggle; six great grandchildren, Kevin Carlisle, Kyra Norcross, Gage and J. T. Anderson, Caden and Carson Anderson. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Gladys Harvell Reynolds and Mary Ann Ammons Bearden.

Margie has many nieces and nephews who loved and enjoyed her company and her wonderful southern cooking. Margie and Andy enjoyed going to estate and garage sales.

The family wishes to thank the kindness of her friend, Ken Miller, for all of his loving help and support and the E. R. and 4th floor staff of Brookwood Hospital.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27, 2014 beginning at 10:0 A.M. until the service at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Chapel with Pastor Tommy Morgan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Christian Church, Helena, Alabama or The Brother Bryan Mission.
