Mary Elizabeth Carr, age 85 of Hueytown, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

Ms. Carr was a native of Louisiana where she lived her early life and moved to Jefferson County where she lived most of her adult life. She was a charter member, Sunday School Teacher, and served her Lord faithfully at The Baptist Church at McAdory. She served as a teacher in the Bessemer School System for thirty years and was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years, Bob Carr and two brothers; Racer and Clarence Dean Holstead.

She is survived by four daughters, Susan Harrison, Laura Anderson, Barbara Walker (Doug), and Amy Mink; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 12 Noon at The Baptist Church at McAdory, 4954 Eastern Valley Road, McCalla, AL 35111, with Brother Bill McCall officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Valhalla Cemetery with a private family graveside service.
