age 84, of Hueytown, AL, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2006. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hueytown, AL since 1952. She was a LPN for 30 years. She worked at Self Nursing Home and Beverly Nursing Home in Hueytown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, John L. Higdon. Survivors include: daughters, Betty (John E.)Johnson of Bessemer, AL and Gladys Christine Walburn of Bryon, GA; step daughter, Terry (Johnny) Freeman of Maylene, AL; grandchildren, Gail Unthank, Jonna Franklin, John Johnson, Jr., Donald Johnson, Michael Walburn, Mark Freeman, Traci Richardson and Scott Freeman; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Mildred Baker of Perry, GA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Valhalla Chapel with burial in Valhalla Cemetery, Midfield, AL.
