Mary Jane Orr, age 95, a cherished resident of Parker, Colorado for the past 13 years, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories. Born in Jemison, Alabama, Mary Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Crit and Olis Glass of Fairfield, Alabama.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield, Alabama. A graveside service will follow at Valhalla Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her devoted husband, W.G. Orr Jr., with whom she shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her loving son, Mike Orr, and his wife Pam, both of Parker, Colorado.
Mary Jane was a sister to the late Marshall Glass and his wife Maxine of Pell City, Alabama, and to Charles Glass and his wife Wileen of Pelham, Alabama. She was also adored by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Throughout her life, Mary Jane lived in several cities, including Birmingham, Alabama; Temple, Texas for 29 years; Montgomery, Alabama for 26 years; and Virginia Beach, Virginia for 8 years. In each place, she made lifelong friends and left an indelible mark on her community.
Mary Jane was a devoted Alabama Football and Denver Broncos fan, a passion that brought her joy and camaraderie. Her faith was an essential part of her life, and she was a past member of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama, and First Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia.
The service to celebrate Mary Jane's life will be officiated by Dr. Ed Glasscock. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Barry Glass, Gary House, Jeff Duffee, and Steve Duffee. Valhalla Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
Mary Jane's warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
