Mary Nell Shaw, age 93, of Hoover passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2017 at Country Cottages in Hoover, AL. She was raised in Birmingham where she lived most of her life. Her mother and father passed away by the time she was 12. She was raised by an aunt and uncle, Paul C. Cross and Willie Cross who preceded her in death as well as a son, Larry Shaw, 2 grandsons; 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by 2 sons, Siggle and Dewey Shaw; 2 grandsons; 1 granddaughter and a great granddaughter; 2 great grandsons; 1 niece and 3 nephews.

She was a homemaker all of her life devoting her attention to raising her 3 sons. She would have been 94 in December 2017. She has been in failing health for the past 8 years.

Services will be on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Chapel with Brother Ray Brunner officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A. M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.
