passed away at home on December 8, 2007 after a brief battle with mesothelioma. Ms. Standen was preceded in death by her father Albert H. Snyder and mother Myrtle Thomas Snyder. A beloved daughter, niece, cousin, friend and "sister", she is survived by her aunt Reba Harmon of Comfort, Texas; cousins Donna Lassister and husband David of Comfort, TX; T. Ed Harmon and wife Lottie of Dallas TX; aunt Irene S. Weaver and husband Joe of Birmingham, AL; Special Birmingham friends Charlotte Burnett and family; Elean Brodie and family; Mayo Penny and family; Grant Williams family; "sisters" Gail W. Terrell, Jody and Lisa of Florence, AL; Harold and Ailene Williams of Waverly, AL; a host of friends. Mary was always friendly and willing to help in any situation. Her talents were many. Her greatest talent was that of caring for, helping and loving her wide circle of friends and family. Special thanks to Nancy Dubois, Mary Fuller and the Red Team at New Beacon Hospice. Graveside services will be held at Valhalla Cemetery on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Beacon Hospice or a charity of your choice.
