Mary Evelyn Thigpen, age 96, of McCalla, AL, a loving mother, grandmother and devoted to her family, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021.

Mrs. Thigpen was a native of and life long resident of Alabama and a member of the Baptist Church at McAdory.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Edward Blackstock and Turah Blackstock, her husband, W.J. Thigpen, son, Eddie Thigpen sister, Murl Bailey and a brother, Hubert Blackstock

Mrs. Thigpen is survived by her son, Johnny Thigpen, grandchildren; Ashley Glidewell (Matthew), Jesslyn Thigpen Quinn (Jerry), Candace Thigpen, great grandchildren; Jackson Glidewell, Jones Glidewell, Brooks Quinn, William Quinn, and Margaret Quinn.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 11, 2021, 11:00 AM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bill McCall will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
