Cox, Melton , age 91 , of Bessemer, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Juanita Dean McDougal Cox; his son Robert Cox (Dorothy Sue Stovall Cox); grandchildren, Annorah Jo Vanoy (Steven), Lewis Ridge Cox (Dana), Ellen Bush (Col. Fredrick) and Susan Layne Adams (Andrew); great grandchildren, Josie Cox, Laura, Bonnie and William Bush, Layne, Rowen, Eden and Gavin Adams; sister, Lola Mae Hendricks. Graveside services will be on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Valhalla Cemetery in Midfield. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
