Evelyn Florette Medders Williams, departed this life on May 4, 2026. She lived a full life of 95 years as a cherished mother, grandmother and Aunt. She was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Bessemer, Alabama.

She was the daughter of Myrtie and Luverne Medders, who pre-deceased her. She was additionally pre-deceased by her loving husband Burley Y. Williams, her sisters Idella Thompson (Leland) and Jimmie Norris.

She has one daughter, Mary Ann Smith (Paul) ; one step-son Burley T. Williams Jr. (Buck) and his daughters; granddaughter, Alison Smith and her nephew Randy Scott Norris (Carrie), step-grandchildren Theresa and Rita, who all loved and cared for her thru her final years. Along with a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a few great great nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance will be held on May 13, 2026 at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield, Alabama. She will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but they know that she is resting within the arms of Jesus.
