Avery, Myrtis "Scottie" Yearco Joiner , age 76, of Bessemer, AL, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Monday, October 6, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, October 6, 2008 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Scott and Tyrone "Chip" Avery; her daughter, Frankie Martin. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne Gilmore, Jackie Barderwerper and husband Bob; Kellie Avery-Tubb and husband Larry; her son-in-law, Ronnie Martin; her sister, Verna Smith; her brothers, Steve and Colin Joiner; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their care and support.
