Mrs. Hawkins was a native of Tuscaloosa County and a resident of Jefferson County most of her life. She retired from Bargaintown and was a long time employee of W. T. Grant until its closing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hawkins.

She is survived by her son, Billy Shannon Harkins (Mary); two grandchildren, Sean Hawkins (Lisa) and Brian Hawkins; two great grandchildren, Virginia and Patrick Hawkins.
