Nancy K. Spradlin Smith, age 69 of Bessemer died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Ms. Smith was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County where she was a long time employee at Alabama Barber Shop. She was a member of the Bessemer Independent Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband, James "Kenny" Smith; her parents, Willis T. Spradlin and Maureen Spradlin; three brothers, Sidney Spradlin, Gene Spradlin, and Grady Spradlin.

She is survived by one son, Jason Furgason (Joanie); one daughter, Kristi Boulware (Bill); a grandson, Cory Furgason (Bella); two step grandchildren, Hunter Smith and Fisher Smith; one nephew, Dewayne Spradlin and numerous family and friends.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Valhalla Chapel at 12 Noon with Brother David McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Valhalla Funeral Home.
