Nellie Young

October 26, 1926 - September 13, 2014

Nellie Young, age 87 of Hueytown went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2014. She is preceded in death by her son, Ray Barr; brother, Jr. Fortner; sister Frances Bain and parents Elbert and Mami Fortner.

Mrs. Young is survived by her husband, Harvey Young; step children, Mike Young, Pam Sinclair (Eddie), brother Bruce Fortner (Linda); grandchildren, Carrie Lewis, Sherri Doyle, Jamie Vandiver, Amy Mitchell, Kellie Scoggins, Shannon Young, Melissa Herrin, Amanda Liana and Betsy Freeman and a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Mike Simpson officiating at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M.
